Landmark Valuation Services (formerly Quest) has today announced that chartered surveyors can now produce RICS HomeBuyer reports on a tablet device, using its award-winning Q-Mobile survey app. This removes the need to manually create paper-based reports, saving surveyors time and helping to deliver a more efficient home-buying and selling process.
The new Q-Mobile HomeBuyer site notes enable surveyors to capture all key information, including ratings, description, condition, advice and photos, as well as immediately flagging any risks or issues that have been taken into consideration. Plus, with an ‘intelligent phrases’ feature, surveyors benefit from a phrase builder that allows them to find, edit and insert their company-approved phrases into site notes quickly and easily.
Surveyors can create reports on the go as their site notes are automatically mapped into the RICS HomeBuyer report template. Following the survey, they can simply review and sign off the report, rather than starting it from scratch.
The ability to preview the HomeBuyer report on the tablet prior to sign off helps to maintain company standards and produce high quality reports.
Countrywide Surveying Services has just completed the Q-Mobile HomeBuyer roll-out to its entire workforce and is already seeing numerous benefits. Countrywide and Landmark partnered closely on the development of the new HomeBuyer functionality to ensure it streamlines the survey and reporting process and makes it easy to consistently create high quality reports.
Matthew Cumber, Director of Field Operations at Countrywide Surveying Services, said:
“We’re very pleased at how smoothly our Q-Mobile HomeBuyer adoption has gone and the positive reactions we’ve had from our surveying teams. Q-Mobile enables our surveyors to spend more quality time focussing on the property and less time on form-filling, with many now completing the HomeBuyer survey and report on the same day. This is due to the reduction in manual effort and the fact that they can complete the entire process on their tablet.
“This means we are providing a better customer service and enabling our surveyors to manage their workload more easily, so it’s a win-win situation. Our surveyors are already saving 20-30 minutes per survey on average for standard properties and we anticipate that this will increase as they get more used to the software.”
A number of other surveying firms are already in the process of rolling-out the Q-Mobile HomeBuyer functionality, including Rumball Sedgwick, Quantum, Bramleys, Lea Hough Chartered Surveyors and Flint Ross Moorhouse.
Ali Junkison, Senior Product Manager at Landmark Valuation Services, said:
“We are delighted to extend the benefits of Q-Mobile to RICS HomeBuyer reports. The new site notes help to ensure the right information is captured for every survey and having it mapped directly into the RICS template saves time and money by removing duplicated effort. The split sign-off functionality helps surveyors to ensure they meet lender SLAs for Level 2 survey & valuation jobs by submitting the valuation report before focussing on the HomeBuyer questions.”
